Darel Edward Veal

Mr. Veal is a native Alabamian who has been involved in ministry for over 40 years. He is a retired educator, having served 28 years in public schools. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lee University with a double major in History and Biblical Education; the Master of Arts from Pentecostal Theological Seminary with an emphasis on Historical Theology; the Master of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University Divinity School with a focus on Patristic and Medieval Christianity; and the Master of Science in Library and Information Studies with certification in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama. He is also an Oblate of the Order of Saint Benedict.
Mr. Veal is an avid fan of Bluegrass music and Alabama football. He enjoys playing guitar and writing songs, reading about vintage stringed instruments, exploring old cemeteries, hiking mountainous trails, and railfanning. He has two adult children and one grandchild (so far). He lives with Sherry, his wife of 42 years, in Hazel Green, where they stay busy working in their yard growing flowers and a various assortment of herbs and vegetables.
