Damon Manders
Damon Manders, MA
Director of Community Outreach, Registrar
Damon Manders works part time as the Registrar and Director of Community Outreach for HTI. He also serves as a teacher and as administrator of the Endeavor Learning Lab, a technology center supporting the educational and home school community in Huntsville. He has been a Deacon and lead teacher at the Endeavor Church since 2013.
Mr. Manders is a lieutenant colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard, with whom he has deployed three times to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. Since he joined in 1988, he has participated in numerous training and relief missions, including after 2005’s Hurricane Katrina and the 2011 tornadoes. He is a member of the Signal Corps Regiment and is a graduate of the Intermediate Leadership Course and Advanced Operations Course.
As a practicing historian and author, Mr. Manders has published numerous books, most notably:
- The Christmas Letters: Letters from a Soldier to his Children about the Meaning of Christmas
This collection of letters he wrote his children while deployed addresses the history and meaning of Christmas and holiday traditions. - Draw Near to God: Meditations on the Psalms
This study of the Psalms addresses seven themes to help readers draw near to God through worship, prayer, study, and biblical meditation. - Basic Christian Beliefs
This is a high-school level theology and discipleship course covering 30 major Christian doctrines.
Mr. Manders received a Bachelor’s Degree in History, English, and Political Science at the University of North Alabama in 1992. He received a Master’s Degree in History from the University of Mississippi in 1995. He completed the fifth year program in Secondary Education at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1996. He completed the Pastoral Ministries Training Program at HTI in 2024.
