Biblical Context Program
The Biblical Context Program (BCP) is HTI’s NEW online or distance learning program. These are classes designed to supplement the SBS and PMT programs by providing background information to aid students in proper exegesis of the scriptures. Exegesis is reading meaning out of the Bible based on its original linguistic, historical, and theological context.
If you want to take our courses but live remote to the Huntsville area or can’t attend in-person classes because of schedule conflicts or health issues, these classes are for you!
HTI believes in the power of discipleship. We believe in teaching the Bible and ministry skills to those serving in the church. However, we also believe that in-person classes provide the best means of teaching not just the Bible but biblical authority, character, and wisdom. This is why we select highly knowledgeable and educated instructors who are Christian leaders and pastors capable of mentoring students. At the same time, we recognize that there are many topics where discussion of the Bible or mentoring opportunities are minimal.
This content is ideal for online or remote training.
We also recognize that many students are unable to attend in-person classes, whether because of distances, being housebound, or being inconvenient to jobs and family. The BCP program is open to all U.S. residents (no international students at this time, please!). Other than certain scheduled activities for some classes, material is mostly self-paced within the timeframe established for each class.
Students are still required to register and pay our minimal fees in order to participate. The cost of each course is minimal compared to online seminary classes, and we offer significant discounts to current and former students.
The first of these courses – HI 101 Readings in Christian Classics I – will launch on January 1, 2026, with more planned on being offered in the future. Keep checking back with us to see our latest online offerings!
