A Monumental Problem, A Messianic Promise, A Miraculous Provision

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command not to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, their sin created a monumental problem for mankind. Their actions severed the perfect relationship between God and mankind, with no apparent remedy or way to restore the breech.
Mankind was doomed to death, both physical and spiritual, from that point in history. The problem – how to repair the breech and restore the perfect relationship mankind had enjoyed with God up to that point – was indeed monumental; no action Adam or Eve could take would ever be sufficient. Fellowship with God having been broken, all they could do was to sorrowfully turn their backs on their home in Eden’s Paradise and live out their lives separated from God.
Their action – sin – also plunged all mankind for all future generations toward the same fate. Sin has separated all of us from God, and there is no way humanly possible to restore us to a right relationship.
BUT GOD made a Messianic Promise. From the first reference to a Redeemer, the Protoevangelium, Genesis 3:15, and throughout the Old Testament, the Bible progressively reveals the Messiah, the Anointed One, the coming King of Kings. This Messiah, King and Redeemer would ultimately save not only the Jewish nation but also any other person who would call on His name and believe Him for salvation. What a promise!
While the Old Testament Jews prayed for and awaited the coming of the Messiah, they did not witness the fulfillment of the Promise. But after a period of some four hundred years between the end of the Old Testament writings and the beginning of the Gospels, The true Messiah did make His appearance on Earth.
His brief time on Earth, his ministry, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection served to seal the Miraculous Provision. In His death and resurrection, He provided eternal life to all who believe in Him, the Holy Spirit to be our Guide and Comforter, and eternal security in the mighty hands of God our Father.
More than that, He promised we will live with Him eternally, glorying in His presence as we take our place in the New Heaven and New Earth.
Praise God, Jesus Christ solved the Monumental Problem, fulfilling the Messianic Promise and securing the Miraculous Provision. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I urge you to call upon His name today, confess your sin to Him and believe Him for your salvation.
